Brief Biography for Tom Rokovitz
Tom graduated from Miami
of Ohio University and served as a athletic training
student there. He has worked in the Sports Medicine
Industry for more than 30 years. He has introduced
countless products and equipment to the industry
that will better serve the athletic trainer and
improve the care offered to the patient. Tom is
currently the Southeast Sales Manager for Sports
Health, a division of School Health Corporation. He
works with his long time assistant Amy Bauer out of
Sports Health’s Jacksonville Office.
Brief Description of Presentation
Our presentation will
offer information on “what is lightning” from a
technical standpoint. How lightning affects the
athletic trainer and schools in general. How can
lightning be detected. And, safety measures for
those responsible for lightning safety.

Brief Biography for John Miller
Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of North
Carolina, Graduated in 1980
Worked in the Banking Industry for 14 years in the
state of North Carolina
Purchased Econoline Products in 1994
Owned and operated Econoline until 2000
Merged Econoline with Sports Health in 2000
Became President of the Sports Health Division of
School Health Corporation and President of the
Econoline Manufacturing Division
Also, named School Health's National Sales Manager
for the School Nurse and Sports Medicine Division
Brief Biography for
Edward F.
Shaver
Mr.
Shaver is co-founder one of the principle owners of
Spectrum. He brings the experience of leading the
development and manufacturing design team for the
Skyscan Technologies P5 Personal Lightning Detector,
which began production and market introduction in
1995. This patented technology was groundbreaking in
its design, exceeded only by the development of the
ThunderBolt technology, also lead by Mr. Shaver. Mr.
Shaver has performed as Program Manager in several
high-technology development projects for the U.S.
Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of
Defense. These programs included large solar thermal
power systems for D.O.E., which coordinated
government efforts to develop and commercialize
industrial and utility-scale applications of solar
thermal power systems, sonar systems development and
support for Naval Sea Systems for application on
Poseidon-class SSBNs. Mr. Shaver is a graduate from
Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in
Physics. Mr. Shaver currently has his name on two
patents.
Brief Biography for
Eric Hessemer
Mr.
Hessemer has nearly 25 years experience in the
advertising industry, specializing in marketing and
account service. The last ten years Mr. Hessemer has
been the owner/president of the agency providing the
marketing and creative work for Spectrum
Electronics. Mr. Hessemer’s experience includes work
in such categories as high-tech, medical, building
materials, financial, retail and travel industries.
He has personally developed marketing plans for such
organizations as Critikon (a Johnson & Johnson
Company), Celotex, Patchington Stores, and Tampa
International Airport. Mr. Hessemer is a graduate of
the University of South Florida. |
