Brief Biography
Dr. Tripp is the
Director of Clinical Education for the Entry-level
and Post-Professional Athletic Training Education
Programs at Florida International University in
Miami. Dr. Tripp holds a BS in Athletic Training
from Northeastern University, a MEd from the
University of Virginia’s Sports Medicine program and
a PhD in Kinesiology / Biomechanics from the
University of Kentucky. Dr. Tripp’s research and
publications focus on scapular kinematics in healthy
and injured populations, clinical assessment of
scapular dyskinesis, orthopedic and biomechanical
evaluation and rehabilitation of overhead-throwing
athletes, effects of fatigue on upper-extremity
kinematics and sensorimotor system function and
enhancing neuromuscular control in the
upper-extremity. He has presented his research and
been invited to speak on these and other topics at
regional, national and international conferences.
Dr. Tripp worked with Ben Kibler MD and Tim Uhl PhD
at the Lexington Clinic Sports Medicine Center
during his time in Kentucky. He worked in Sports
Medicine at the University of Virginia and Berkshire
School in Massachusetts before perusing his PhD.
Brief Description of Presentation
This course is designed
for clinicians who wish to enhance their ability to
assess and rehabilitate shoulder dysfunction. We
will discuss and practice advanced clinical
techniques to assess scapular function and integrate
scapula control exercises into shoulder
rehabilitation. We will review material using brief
PowerPoint presentations followed by demonstrations
and hands-on experience applying the assessment and
rehabilitation techniques.
