The SEATA Athletic Training Student Symposium will be
held Feb. 4-6, 2010 at the Crown Plaza Ravinia Hotel in Atlanta, GA.
Ray Castle, PhD, ATC, of Louisiana State University is the
Workshop Coordinator. R.T. Floyd, EdD, ATC, of The University
of West Alabama is the Competencies in Athletic Training
Director.
All students who were on the waiting list have now been placed in
their desired track. All sessions are closed in advance and
there will be no onsite registration. Only those preregistered will
be admitted. The tentative schedule of the various sessions has
changed slightly from previous posting.

Education
Two simultaneous sessions
will be offered (college students freshman through graduate
level), both beginning at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4
and ending at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6. The sessions are:
Session I:
Foundations of Athletic Training Workshop (open to all
athletic training students) Session I is separated into two concurrent tracks based
upon the students level athletic training. For

Research
SEATA is calling for Case Study Abstracts authored by
athletic training students.
The student authors of the top 15 abstracts will be chosen
to present in a case study moderated session. A faculty or
staff person from the institution of the student submitting
the abstract must be a co-author and must have been directly
involved in the medical treatment/care of the clinical case.
Submissions selected for formal presentation will provide a
15 minute summary of their case study at the symposium
during Clinical Case Study sessions. Each session will be
moderated by an ATC presentation faculty member, with 3-4
students presenting per session; the student presenters will
also answer questions from the audience during the sessions
Q&A.

Advance registration for the symposium is $75. To qualify for
the pre-registration price, online
