Transitioning to Physicians' Assistant Role

Brief Biography of Speaker

Currently a Physician Assistant, responsible for evaluating and treating orthopaedic conditions, Frank also serves as first assist in surgery for total joint replacements, as well as a number of sports medicine conditions and trauma. Frank received BSEd and MSEd degrees from Northern Illinois University, and an AS degree from Miami-Dade College Medical School as a Physician Assistant and MMS degree from Nova Southeastern University.

Frank received several awards from the NATA, including Service Award and Most Distinguished. From SEATA, Frank received the Award of Merit and Hall of Fame, and from ATAF, Frank received High School ATC of the Year, Athletic Trainer of the Year and Hall of Fame awards.

Frank has been a consultant on several legal cases involving heat-related deaths with athletes. He has lectured at the NATA, ATAF and several other seminars and clinics.

Frank has worked at the high school level as a teacher and head athletic trainer. Frank has also worked at the university level at the University of Maryland and University of Miami. Additional experiences include ATC for the USA Lacrosse Championships in Australia, the Atlanta Olympics and the head athletic trainer for the Greek International baseball for the “B” Pool International Baseball Championships in Nagykaniza, Hungary.

Frank as a Physician Assistant has assisted with the coverage and treatment of the Orlando Predators (Arena Football) and the Orlando Magic (NBA).

Frank has also served as president of SEATA and ATAF along with several current chair and committee positions with both associations.

He is married to Mary Kay for more than 25 years and lives in Fleming Island, FL.

Brief Description of Presentation

This lecture will take you through Frank’s personnel experiences as a Physician Assistant. The audience will learn what is expected to progress through the grueling course-work required to prepare for my national PA boards. You will see how the cross-over from ATC to PA-C applies.
