Brief Biography of Speaker

Megan McGrath
Ms. McGrath has a B.A. in Athletic Training from Purdue University and a Master’s degree in Human Environmental Sciences in Sports Management from the University of Alabama. In her role at the Datalys Center as the Manager of Collegiate Engagement, she is responsible for fostering positive, collaborative relationships between the participating athletic trainers and the Datalys Center. Athletic trainers at participating institutions play a critical role in the Datalys Center’s collegiate injury surveillance program, and Ms. McGrath manages all aspects of collegiate engagement including AT recruitment, training, and support.

Troy Hege
Mr. Hege was named President of the Datalys Center in 2009. Before joining the Datalys Center, Mr. Hege worked at BioCrossroads, a privately funding economic development enterprise focused on growing the life sciences sector in the State of Indiana. While at BioCrossroads, Mr. Hege worked on various venture and non-profit initiatives, two of which include the Indiana Health Information Exchange, a nationally recognized Healthcare Information Technology company and the Fairbanks Institute for Health Communities, a research institute that specializes in the formation and longitudinal tracking of therapeutic-based cohorts for clinic research. Prior to joining BioCrossroads, Mr. Hege served as a management consultant in Boston and New York City, where he advised leading healthcare, pharmaceutical and technology companies in brand management, business development and technology strategy. Mr. Hege graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Management, and has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Brief Description of Presentation

Over the past year, the day-to-day management of the NCAA’s Injury Surveillance Program has transitioned to the Datalys Center. As part of the transition, the Datalys Center is undertaking several initiatives aimed at improving program participation, data quality and reliability, and data access. Representatives from the Datalys Center will be discussing these initiatives and how they affect collegiate athletic trainers.
