Brief Biography of
Speaker
Dr Naugle has been the
Clinical Coordinator for the University of Florida’s
Athletic Training Education Program for the last 4
years. He received his PhD from the University of
Florida in May of 2009 and is currently a certified
athletic trainer and personal trainer. Prior to
coming to Florida, he was a health and PE teacher in
Roanoke County Public schools. Dr Naugle has a
Masters’ degree from the University of Illinois
Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelors’ degree from
Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia.
Brief Description of
Presentation
Burnout has been
researched in over 5000 articles, and affects a
variety of healthcare professionals, including
Athletic Trainers. To date only about a dozen
articles have focused on athletic trainer burnout,
causing many ATCs to not even be aware that they may
have experienced this condition. Burnout has many
signs and symptoms, many of which can be reduced or
prevented with a multitude of strategies to reduce
stress and increase quality of work and thus quality
of life.
