Brief Biography of
Speaker
James Shipp is in his
second year as a collegiate advisor for Trustway
T.E.A.M. Services where he works with athletic
departments on cost-containment, risk management,
and insurance initiatives.
Prior to working for Trustway T.E.A.M. Services,
Shipp spent 10 years at the University of North
Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). During his time at
UNCG, Shipp served as a staff athletic trainer, Head
Athletic Trainer, and Assistant Athletic Director
for Student Welfare where he oversaw the entire
athletic performance wing of athletics.
Shipp is a certified member of the National Athletic
Trainer’s Association, and he is licensed to
practice athletic training by the North Carolina
Board of Athletic Trainers.
A native of Fayetteville, NC, Shipp earned a
bachelor of arts degree in physical education with a
minor in chemistry from the University of North
Carolina in 1995. He then went on to earn a master
of arts degree in exercise physiology from UAB in
1998.
Brief Description of
Presentation
Low Back and Hip
injuries are often a daunting task to the clinical
Athletic Trainer. This minicourse aims to break
down the assessment of low back and hip injuries
while providing manual therapy and rehabilitation
interventions for these injuries.
