text books. Additional questions can be formed using information

15 multiple choice questions and will be a timed event. All FOUR
members of the quiz bowl team will be required to take the
qualifying exam; this will not be a group exam. For the qualifying
exam, the members of the team must delineate themselves as #1, #2,
#3, and #4, in case we must use tie breaking assessment number two
during the bracketing.
Once the scores of the qualifying exam have been tallied, the teams
will be placed in numerical order from highest score to lowest
score. The teams will then be paired for Round 1 of the SEATA Quiz
Bowl. The teams will be paired as follows: Highest scoring vs.
lowest scoring, second highest scoring vs. second lowest scoring
etc.
If the need
for a tie-breaker arises:
The first
tie breaking assessment will be the time needed to complete
the exam. The team that AVERAGED the shortest time to
complete the exam will win the tie breaker.
The second
tie breaking assessment will be the total score for each
member of the team. The scores will be compared for each of
the members of the quiz bowl team starting at #1 and working
down until a member earns a higher score than the equivalent
member on the opposing team.
The third
and final tie breaker will be a coin flip.
If there are
an odd number of teams that register for the SEATA Quiz Bowl:
In the
event that there is an odd number of teams that register for
the quiz bowl, the team that scores the highest on the
