ATAF Symposium Wrap-Up

The 19th Annual ATAF Clinical Symposium and Business meeting was a great success!  Over 200 members attended the symposium last weekend.  Special thanks to Dr. Angela Sehgal and the Education Committee for their hard work.  Next year’s meeting will also be held at the Hilton Orlando/Altamonte Springs.  The dates will be April 25-27, 2008.  Watch the ATAF website for more information.

National Athletic Training Month Reports Needed

Did you, your school or your organization/company participate in National Athletic Training Month?  Please send any pictures or information regarding special activities to Kenny Shields at kkll1@verizon.net.  No efforts are too small to be reported.  Please send ALL information.

Call to Action: Very Important

Have you sent your letter to support H.R. 1876, Medicare Access to Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Services Improvement Act?

To date, 4,022 letters have been sent to members of Congress by NATA members using our web site!  Were you one of them?  If so, then THANK YOU!

If not, visit the Legislative Alert Center and send your letters today!  It is a very easy process and will take you less than five minutes.

Don’t be misinformed -- this bill affects the entire athletic training profession, not just those in a clinical setting.

Go here to read how and why this affects athletic trainers in schools.

If you have a supervising physician, please ask them to send a letter as well!  Members of Congress want to know that physicians care about this issue.  Physician involvement is critical to the success of H.R. 1846.  Please check your 4/17/07 email from NATA and print out the attached letter, have your physician sign and complete their address, and fax it back to the NATA office (214.637.2206).  We’ll take care of sending it to the correct members of Congress; we’ll fax it to both Senators and the Representative.
