On
April
10th,
ATAF
President
Stephanie
Lennon
was
in a
serious
motorcycle
accident.
She
was
air
lifted
to
Orlando
Regional
Medical
Center
where
a
trauma
team
took
her
into
surgery.
Stephanie
had
suffered
damage
to
her
right
lower
extremity.
The
team
of
surgeons
worked
diligently
to
reinstate
normal
anatomical
appearance
and
function.
During
a
subsequent
surgery,
it
was
determined
that
her
leg
had
sustained
damage
so
severe
that
it
could
not
be
saved.
The
Chief
Trauma
Surgeon
at
ORMC
performed
the
amputation
above
the
knee.
A
third
surgery
was
performed
to
check
the
status
of
the
amputation.
They
discovered
she
needed
a
better
skin
flap
for
the
amputated
area
and
proceeded
to
remove
the
lower
thigh.
Stephanie
has
received
an
overwhelming
outpouring
of
support
from
family,
friends,
and
co-workers
in
the
form
of
flowers,
phone
calls,
food,
cards
and
visitors
at
the
hospital.
She
is
very
thankful
for
all
of
the
prayers
and
well
wishes.
Stephanie
says
she
is
doing
well,
considering
the
circumstances.
If
you
would
like
to
send
her
something,
you
can
send
it
to
5404
Brereton
Avenue,
Orlando,
FL
32839.
Stephanie
wants
all
ATAF
members
to
know
that
the
annual
meeting
will
occur
as
scheduled
on
April
25-27
at
the
Hilton
Orlando/Altamonte
Springs.
She
has
been
in
contact
with
ATAF
Board
Members,
Education
Chair,
Awards
Chair
and
Exhibits
Chair
finalizing
plans
for
the
meeting.
Stephanie
is
planning
on
being
in
attendance
at
the
ATAF
Symposium
Meeting
and
is
looking
forward
to
seeing
everyone.
