Due to
the
recent
passing
of Lori
Groover,
the
SEATA
Executive
Board
has
declared
the
Office
of SEATA
Secretary
to be
vacant.
The
By-Laws
require
a
special
election
to be
completed
within
60 days
to fill
a vacant
office
on the
Executive
Board.
Due to
this
time
limitation,
the
Elections
Committee
will
conduct
this
special
election
as
follows:
Nominations
are now
open and
will
remain
so until
midnight
CDT,
Friday,
August
28,
2009.
Certified
Athletic
Trainer
and
Certified
–
Retired
members
of SEATA
may
propose
nominations.
Nominations
are to
be made
in
writing
to the
SEATA
Elections
Committee
Chair at
the
address
below.
Ballots
will be
distributed
to the
membership
by mail
and/or
applicable
computer
technology
by
September
1,
2009.
Voting
shall be
completed
by
midnight
CDT,
September
15, 2009
and
election
results
will be
announced
as soon
as the
results
are
validated. (Should
a
run-off
election
be
needed,
the
candidates
will be
announced
by
September
18 with
ballots
going
out the
same day
and
being
due by
midnight
CDT,
September
25.) The
winner
of this
election
will
take
office
immediately
upon the
validation
of the
election
results
and will
serve
until
this
term
ends in
June
2010 at
the NATA
Annual
Meeting
in
Philadelphia,
PA.
Election
shall be
by a
majority
popular
vote.

were
unable

attend
the
opportunity
to
submit
their
memories.

reviewed

display

Biennial
SEATA
Educators’
Conference
on Feb.
3-6,
2010 in
Atlanta,
GA.
Individuals
interested
in
sharing
original
research,
or other
scholarly
work
that is
relevant
to
athletic
training
clinical
practice
or
education,
are
encouraged
to
submit
by the
Nov. 2,
2009
deadline.
Abstracts
will be
rated on
the
basis of
clarity
of
purpose,
appropriateness
of
methods,
adequacy
of
results,
relevance
of
findings
to the
clinical
practice
of
athletic
training
or the
education
of
athletic
training
students,
and
value of
the
information
to
conference
attendees.

designed

to
recognize
those
members
who have
performed
extraordinary
service
and
brought
honor to
the
profession

athletic

SEATA

to SEATA
is the
primary
consideration.
