2009 SEATA Athletic Training Student Symposium Registration Underway

What: 24th Annual SEATA Athletic Training Student Symposium
When: Feb. 6-7, 2009
Where: Crown Plaza Ravinia Hotel in Atlanta, GA
Costs: Pre-registration is $75 if  submitted online by Monday, Jan. 26, 2009 or postmarked before midnight, Tuesday, January 20.  Registration after this (if available) is $90.
How  to Register: Preferably online at https://www.SignUp4.net/Public/ap.aspx?EID=SEAT33E or use the mail-in registration form at www.seata.org/09atssreg.doc.
When to Register:
As soon as possible due to limited space in each of the three tracks.
Accommodations: Rooms at the Crown Plaza Ravinia must be reserved by January 14, 2009 to ensure the $107 room rate by calling Connections at (404) 842-0000 or (800) 262-9974.  Identify yourself as being with the SEATA Meeting.

Just over a Month left for SEATA Awards Nominations

The SEATA Honors & Awards Committee is accepting your nominations until Jan. 1, 2009 for the following awards.  Go to www.seata.org/Awards.htm.

 

SEATA Scholarship Committee accepting Applications

Starting November 17th, the SEATA Scholarship Committee will be accepting applications for ten available scholarships.  Four undergraduate and three graduate scholarships are available to full time students pursuing a degree in athletic training.  In addition, District 9 members who presently have a dependent enrolled as a junior or senior in an accredited college or university are eligible for three family scholarships.  Details and criteria related to each of the scholarships can be found at www.seata.org/Scholarshipdetails.htm.  All potential candidates are asked to visit the SEATA website and complete the online application.  The deadline for all scholarships is January 7, 2009.
 

 

SEATA Call for Case Study Abstracts Authored by Athletic Training Students

SEATA is calling for Case Study Abstracts authored by athletic training students.  The student authors of the top 15 abstracts will be chosen to present in a case study moderated session.  A faculty or staff person from the institution of the student submitting the abstract must be a co-author and must have been directly involved in the medical treatment/care of the clinical case.  Submissions selected for formal presentation will provide a 15 minute summary of their case study at the symposium during “Clinical Case Study” sessions.  Each session will be moderated by an ATC presentation faculty member, with 3-4 students presenting per session; the student presenters will also answer questions from the audience during the session’s Q&A.  SEATA Call for Case Study Abstracts authored by athletic training students for 2009 Annual Athletic Training Student Workshop
 

 

SEATA Runoff Election Results

The SEATA Election Committee announces Jim Mackie as the winner of the runoff election for SEATA Treasurer.  Thank you to those members that voted in the runoff and original election.  The committee wishes to continually improve the election process and increase membership returns.  SEATA members are invited to offer suggestions for future elections; anyone with election feedback should contact election committee members Donna Wesley (MS), Paul Higgs (GA), or Mike Dawson (LA).
 

 

1st Annual SEATA Student Quiz Bowl

The 1st Annual SEATA Student Quiz Bowl will be held at 7:00 P.M. Feb. 6, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia in Atlanta, GA.  The winning team will represent District IX at the 1st Annual NATA Quiz Bowl in San Antonio, TX.  Details on team registration and make up are available at www.seata.org/09qb.htm.
 

 

2009 SEATA Clinical Symposium & Members Meeting Registration

Costs: Pre-registration is $105 if  submitted online by Tuesday, March 10, 2009 or postmarked before midnight, Tuesday, March 3.  Registration after this will be onsite at $130.

NATA Political Action CommitteeYou can conveniently contribute when you renew your NATA membership this year.  Just remember that only eligible members can make a contribution - not an employer, sponsor, etc.  Please remember that a contribution to the NATAPAC is not tax deductible.  SEATA continues to be one of the leaders in supporting our federal legislative initiatives that benefits every member, let’s continue this outstanding tradition!

Other contribution options include:

  • Download the contribution form, which may be returned via mail or fax
  • Purchase a ceramic tile  that will be displayed at the national office
