The National Athletic Trainers' Association is
monitoring the immediate and long-term effects of
Hurricane Katrina, which ravaged the
Louisiana-Mississippi Gulf Coast.
The NATA has been closely monitoring conditions in
New Orleans and has made the determination that we
need to consider other sites for our 2006
convention. We are looking at several cities and
determining which have space and dates suitable for
our group.
NATA wishes to support New Orleans and plans to
reschedule our convention there for 2011, or the
next open date. Also under discussion is encouraging
NATA 2006 convention speakers to donate their
honoraria to the New Orleans recovery efforts. This
could result in a donation of as much as $100,000.
We’ll keep you posted.
“Katrina
Needs & News” is a new online message
board for NATA members. We encourage members to use
this board to let others know how they’re doing,
what they need or what they have to offer. Click

how to connect with members in the Gulf States, how
to get involved and how to donate.
