43rd Annual SEATA Clinical Symposium & Members' Meeting

The 2018, 43rd Annual SEATA Clinical Symposium & Members' Meeting will be held March 8-10, at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia Hotel in Atlanta, GA.  This year’s educational program provides attendees with a diverse experience by offering different workshops and plenary sessions, including Evidence Based Practice CEUs.  The program is intended to provide entry-level and experienced Athletic Trainers opportunities to learn new skills and techniques on a variety of sports medicine related topics, as well as gain knowledge on issues important to the practice of athletic healthcare.

Course Objectives

Through plenary sessions and workshop activities, this symposium is designed to provide attendees
the opportunity to:

  • Describe the effects of concussion and musculoskeletal injury on brain processes.
  • Summarize the role of biosensor/wearable technologies for improving wellness, performance, and patient care.
  • ‚ÄčExplain strategies for injury prevention and injury management across the lifespan in physically active individuals.
  • Summarize the most up to date evidence for return to play strategies following upper and lower extremity injuries.
  • Describe best practice methods for managing the female athlete triad.
According to the education levels described by the PDC, the following continuing education course is considered to be Essential/Advanced/Mastery Level.

Continuing Education 

The full symposium this year is scheduled to allow for a maximum 9.5 hours of Category A continuing education for Athletic Trainers.  The Basic Registration this year is scheduled to allow for a maximum 7 hours of Evidence Based Practice continuing education for Athletic Trainers. 

      The Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association, Inc. is recognized by the Board of Certification, Inc. to       offer continuing education for Certified Athletic Trainers.


Basic Registration - Advanced (before February 25, 2018)

All attendees must register online using the link below. Basic Registration fees for Allied Health Care Professionals for all three days is $150 for SEATA/NATA D9 members and $250 for non-members; certified students may register at a rate of $75 and there is a discount for students that also attended the 33rd Annual SEATA Athletic Training Student Symposium.  Daily registration options are available and details are on the registration link.  Members must login when registering to receive your membership discount.

Registrations after February 25, 2018, will need to be made On-Site and are subject to the On-Site registration fees of an additional $15 - $50 depending on registration type and membership status.


SEATA is pleased to offer Critical Incident Stress Management training through the NATA's ATs Care Workshop to NATA members as part of our Clinical Symposium this year.  This will be a two day workshop beginning on Thursday, March 8 and concluding on Saturday, March 10.  Participants will have the opportunity to attend the Friday session of either the Clinical Symposium or the Athletic Training Educators' Conference (included with registration).
