2017 SEATA Bylaws Change Proposal

Bylaw to be Amended:

SEATA Secretary:  Term of Office

Article/Section #:

  2.2.4

CURRENT

The term of office of the Secretary shall be three years. The election of the Secretary will occur on
the year following the election of the President. He/she may not serve more than two consecutive terms.

Rationale for Amendment:  This amendment change matches the wording for the Treasurer’s position and would permit multiple terms for the office of Secretary.  The process for nomination(s) and election would occur as required.  Should the Secretary choose to accept multiple terms, this amendment change would permit the Secretary to serve more than two consecutive terms.

PROPOSED

The term of office of the Secretary shall be three years. The election of the Secretary will occur on
the year following the election of the President.
He/she, to include the current Secretary, may serve without term limits.
