Eligibility/Qualifications

​

If you are a full-time undergraduate or graduate student member of NATA pursuing a degree in athletic training, or affiliated degree, you may be eligible to apply for a scholarship ranging from $500 - $2,300.  Additionally, NATA District IX members who presently have a dependent enrolled at the junior level, or above, in an accredited college or university can apply for one of three $500 family scholarships offered by SEATA.

 

 

SEATA Undergraduate / Graduate Scholarships Program Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Be a current member of the Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association (Members of the NATA who reside within District IX of the NATA).

  2. Have at least a "B" average in their overall curriculum.

  3. Have unmet financial need.

  4. Be sponsored by a SEATA member in good standing with both the NATA and BOC.

  5. Have a character reference by a SEATA member in good standing with both the NATA and BOC.

  6. Applicants, AT Sponsor and AT Character Reference MUST each have a NPI number.

  7. For undergraduates, be at least a junior standing in a CAATE accredited education program.

  8. For graduate applicants, be a Board-certified athletic trainer pursuing a graduate degree in athletic training, or a related field.  Students enrolled in a CAATE accredited entry level graduate curriculum in District IX may apply for an undergraduate scholarship and must meet all other requirements for undergraduate scholarship. These students must successfully complete one year in the program at the end of the academic year in which they are applying.

  9. Scholarship awards are for a one-year term and the recipient is thereby ineligible to receive the same award twice.

SEATA Family Scholarships Program Eligibility Requirements:

​

SEATA Members who presently have a dependent enrolled as a junior or senior in an accredited college or university can qualify for one of three $500.00 family scholarships

  1. Be at least a junior in academic standing enrolled in an accredited college/university.

  2. Have at least a "B" average in their overall curriculum.

  3. Have unmet financial need.

  4. Have a parent/guardian who is, and has been, a member of SEATA in good standing with the BOC for at least five years preceding the date of application.

  5. Scholarship awards are for a one-year term.

SEATA Leadership Scholarships Program Eligibility Requirements:

NATA Foundation Scholarships Program

 

The following endowed academic scholarships are managed by the NATA Foundation.  All qualifications, deadlines, applications, etc. are as determined by the NATA Foundation.

  1. The Bobby Barton Scholarship Endowment, sponsored by District 9, provides an annual scholarship of $2,300 to a qualified entry-level athletic training student.

  2. The Patty and Chuck Kimmel Scholarship Endowment was established in 2013 by District 9 to honor former NATA President Chuck Kimmel and his wife, Patty for their unwavering dedication to the athletic training profession. It provides an annual scholarship of $2,300 to a qualified athletic training student from District 9.

  3. The District 9 MaryBeth and Bob Horodyski Research Endowment provides an annual master’s Research Grant of $1,000 to a member of NATA District 9.
