Danielle Platt

Danielle Platt has served as the Program Director of the BS and MS in Athletic Training at Troy University for the last three years, having previously served as Clinical Education Coordinator at Troy University as well as the University of West Alabama. Throughout her career, Danielle has been able to work with a variety of patient populations that range from secondary school to collegiate football, men’s basketball, softball, cheer, and dance.

During her time at Troy, Danielle had the honor to serve as President of the Alabama Athletic Trainers’ Association from 2018 to January of 2021, which allowed her to sit on the SEATA Executive Board. She has also had the opportunity to serve on the Board of Athletic Trainers in the state of Alabama, serve on many educators’ committees on the district level, and is currently serving as Co-Chair of the Student Leadership Committee for the Athletic Trainers Association of Florida.

During her time on the SEATA Board, Danielle worked to represent all members of the state of Alabama in the best way possible. To do this, she worked with the board to help increase SEATA member benefits and assist in the continuation of the development of the district. This was accomplished by voting to accept CVent as the primary host platform for our district events, increasing scholarship opportunities for our student members, and developing new ways to bring the district more in line with the initiatives of the NATA.

During her tenure as ALATA President and SEATA Executive Board member, she developed a strong reputation as a dedicated and energetic contributor to the profession of athletic training. As SEATA Secretary Danielle would continue to work diligently toward the goals she set during her time as the Alabama representative to the district and continue to improve our district’s communication and event coordination.

Danielle earned her bachelor’s at University of Central Florida, her master’s at University of North Carolina Pembroke, and her Doctor of Athletic Training at A.T. Still University. She currently resides in the Miami area with her husband, Brandon Platt, and they enjoy all outdoor activities that usually include their three dogs: Cinder, Kirby, and Ripken.

The Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association (SEATA) is District IX of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.  It is a not-for-profit organization dealing with the concerns of its members and the profession of athletic training as a whole.  This association was first started back in 1950.  Initially comprised of the members of the Southeastern Conference schools, this district is represented by Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
