NATA District Nine Representative - EDAC

District Nine Representative on the NATA Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee

The district representative to the NATA Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee will facilitate EDAC events on the district and national levels. The NATA Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee (EDAC) serves in an advisory capacity to the NATA Board of Directors, aiming to identify and address issues relevant to the ethnically diverse populations to better serve the needs of our patients, as well as members of the profession.  EDAC advocates sensitivity toward cultural diversity, development of cultural competence within the profession and promotion of athletic trainers as leaders in issues related to cultural competence and professional diversity within the health care professions. 

  

The EDAC district representative is expected to participate in EDAC conference calls (approximately once a month) and attend both the NATA committee day every June and the NATA Joint Committee Meeting each January in Dallas.

All interested members are asked to please email your letter of interest as to why you would like to be on the committee applying for along with your qualifications & resume to Director Brunett @ director@seata.org.   Deadline for applicants to submit is Friday, November 13, 2020.

                                                                                                      

All newly selected members will begin shadowing the sitting committee member and participate on committee calls beginning January 1, 2021. Terms will begin at the June 2021 Convention in Orlando.

SOUTHEAST ATHLETIC TRAINERS' ASSOCIATION

The Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association (SEATA) is District IX of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.  It is a not-for-profit organization dealing with the concerns of its members and the profession of athletic training as a whole.  This association was first started back in 1950.  Initially comprised of the members of the Southeastern Conference schools, this district is represented by Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
