  DISTRICT 9 HAS OPENINGS TO SERVE ON SEVERAL NATA COMMITTEES.  IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SERVING AS THE DISTRICT IX REPRESENTATIVE ON ANY OF THE COMMITTEES LISTED BELOW, PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL TO DISTRICT DIRECTOR BRUNETT AT DIRECTOR@SEATA.ORG.  PLEASE SPECIFY THE COMMITTEE YOU ARE INTERESTED IN, WHY AND ATTACH A CURRENT RESUME BY APRIL 24th, 2021 by 5pm Eastern Time.

 

NOTE***The EPC, CAC and CEC NATA D9 Representatives will also serve as the SEATA Chair and or Co-Chair of those District 9 committees.

 

ALL applicants must have an AT NPI# and be a current NATA/SEATA member in good standing and should include these numbers in their email.

 

THE D9 REPRESENTATIVE THAT IS SELECTED TO SERVE D9 ON THESE COMMITTEES WILL BEGIN IN

JUNE 2021.

 

District 9 Reps are needed for the following NATA Committees:

 

EARLY PROFESSIONAL COMMITTEE (EPC) – Certified AT members with 0-6 years of practice. The focus of this committee will be to support ATs in the early stages of their career fostering leadership, developing educational initiatives & promoting professional and ethical values. The D9 NATA EPC representative will also serve as the Chair for the new SEATA Early Professional Committee.

 

CAREER ADVANCEMENT COMMITTEE (CAC) – Certified AT members with 7-12 years of practice The Career Advancement Committee will focus on issues affecting ATs in their; Work-Life Balance, Career Satisfaction; Career Growth and Professional Retention. The D9 NATA CAC Representative will also serve as the chair for the new SEATA Career Advancement Committee.

 

NOTE: THE EARLY PROFESSIONAL AND THE CAREER ADVANCEMENT ARE TWO NEW COMMITTEES THAT WERE FORMED AS A RESULT OF THE NATA BOD’S APPROVAL OF THE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS COMMITTEE REQUEST TO “SUNSET” THEIR COMMITTEE TO BETTER MEET ALL THE MEMBERS’ NEEDS IN THIS CATEGORY WITH THE CREATION OF THESE TWO NEW COMMITTEES.

 

CONNECTION AND ENGAGEMENT COMMITTEE (CEC) – The Connection and Engagement Committee (CEC) is composed of members with a keen interest in engaging and connecting ATs with resources and information available to them from the national office. This person will help to facilitate information and feedback information up and down the association chain at all levels; National, District, State, and Local, and be an Ambassador for the NATA Brand and profession.  Our D9 CEC rep will also serve as the SEATA co-chair of our MARCOM committee.

 

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION COMMITTEE  (PEC) –  The Professional Education Committee (PEC) supports the collaborative relationship between the profession of athletic training and the educational process. The PEC emphasizes best practices in didactic and clinical education, faculty and preceptor development, and the overall enhancement of professional education in an effort to prepare athletic trainers who are uniquely qualified to excel within a dynamic healthcare system. 

 

The PEC meets once a month for an hour and at the NATA convention each year on committee day. We have several projects going on at any given time and members select which they would like to be involved with. For instance, right now we are working on a preceptor chats series, master preceptor program, the immersion database, resources for CECs, and planning other initiatives that support the faculty and preceptors within professional programs.

SOUTHEAST ATHLETIC TRAINERS' ASSOCIATION

The Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association (SEATA) is District IX of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.  It is a not-for-profit organization dealing with the concerns of its members and the profession of athletic training as a whole.  This association was first started back in 1950.  Initially comprised of the members of the Southeastern Conference schools, this district is represented by Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
